Goal: open a working starter and find your way around it. You will use sample data and will not publish anything in this exercise.
Sign in using the builder address and invitation provided to you. Choose the workspace where you want to keep this example. A workspace is simply a way to organize your projects; you can learn its details later.
From the dashboard, choose Find your starting point, or open the new-app area from the project navigation.
Search the starter gallery for tasks. Choose a simple task-oriented starter available in your version. We will call our example Team tasks throughout the docs, even if your starter has a different name.
Open the starter's details. Review What's inside to see its information, screens, access, and sample data. Choose a look if you want, then select Use this template. Browsing the gallery alone does not create a project.
Open the created project. If you are on its overview, expand it in the sidebar, select its default frontend, and choose Edit shared pages to enter the shared editor.
Use View to inspect the preview. Find one sample task and look at the information it shows. Use Information to inspect the corresponding table and fields. You do not need to change them yet.
You should be able to reopen the project and recognize its screens and sample information. If creation fails, read the message before trying again; check whether a project was already created so you do not make unnecessary duplicates.
This saved project is not a public app yet. Sample records are for previewing and are not copied into a live application's data.
