In the task tracker examples, a task is a record, its title is a field, and the task list is a view.
Look up terms as you follow the guides; you do not need to learn them all first.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| App account | An identity inside an application built with Appify, separate from a builder account and scoped to its app and environment. |
| App Graph | The versioned definition of an application: its data, views, capabilities, access rules, and workflows. Builder changes update this shared definition. |
| Binding | A mapping between a view or supported input and declared information, such as a task list title mapped to the Title field. |
| Building block | A reusable maintained piece used to assemble an application. |
| Builder account | Your personal Appify sign-in, used to manage projects you own. |
| Capability | Shared application behavior, such as records, app accounts, or basic workflows. |
| Entity / table | A kind of information, such as Tasks. An entity is the underlying model; “table” is the friendlier builder term. |
| Environment | A separate context for running an app, including preview or production, with its own data and identities. |
| Field | One named piece of a record, with a defined type, such as Title or Complete. |
| Frame / view | A reusable list, detail view, or form configured for particular information. |
| Frontend | A child interface definition within a project. Independent frontend publishing is future work. |
| MCP | Model Context Protocol: a standard interface compatible agents can use to call authorized Appify tools. Tool availability and permissions remain explicit. |
| Permission | A rule allowing an action on particular information. A visible control or filter is not a permission. |
| Project | The application's shared definition and backend, grouped within a workspace. |
| Record | One item of stored information, such as a single task. |
| Release | A checked application version recorded for possible deployment; it may not be live. |
| Revision | A saved version of the application definition. |
| Template | A starting application definition that you can edit; it does not permanently lock the app's structure. |
| Workflow | A configured event, optional condition, and supported action. |
| Workspace | A named grouping of a builder's projects. Current workspaces are owner-only. |
